6 Month Point

I can't believe that I have been in Australia 6 months now, It feels like yesterday I left Canada. I am falling more and more in love with Australia each and every day and I really want to put a pause on the time. I always feel like once you reach the half way point of something the 2nd half always flies by and I'm really not ready to come back to Canada. I still get homesick at times because I miss things that are familiar to me but after 6 months I have really gotten over missing everything and just accepted that it will all be there when I get home.

I'm still living in Nhulunbuy NT and feel completely at home here. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to everyone here. Its such a small town that I live in -- smaller then Haliburton. Everyone knows everyone and its such a friendly atmosphere around town here. I have made some great friends here, one I am going to have to say good bye to very soon.

I am about to accept a position in Broome, at the Eco Beach Resort, starting on April 18th. This place in Broome looks stunning. Check out the website at http://www.ecobeach.com.au/. Staff accommodation is safari tents, that should be interesting.

Thats the staff tent!

I'm not sure how long I will stay in Broome for but it won't be too long as I have a lot of traveling to do in 6 months before I am due to come back to Canada.

I have been thinking about working for 3 extra months to make some more cash and to stay on a tourist visa until November so I can really see everything I want to see. This is a once in a life time experience so I want to make the best of it and see as much of Australia as I possibly can. Once I have been gone a year whats another 3 months is nothing.

I love you all back in Canada. I'll be home before you know it!
